Data Processing Operations Engineer (Space Data)

What you will do

• Operate data ingestion, processing, and product distribution activities for space and Earth observation missions.
• Analyse data and products, monitor operational performance, and maintain reporting tools and statistics.
• Prepare new missions and operational systems through testing, documentation, procedures, training, and readiness activities.
• Test and implement new products, investigate anomalies, and perform first-line maintenance with on-call support.
• Coordinate with external organisations and service providers and participate in technical meetings and formal reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Experience with near-real-time, data-driven automated systems, large computer networks, and UNIX/Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of scripting languages and databases, including Perl, Python, shell, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience preparing, testing, documenting, and validating data processing systems and end-to-end processing chains.
• Knowledge of computer and network systems, IT security, configuration control, ECSS standards, and spacecraft or ground segment operations.
• Fluent English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is advantageous.

Nice to have

• Programming experience with C, C++, or IDL.
• Experience validating complex remote sensing, meteorological, or Earth observation data processing systems.
• Knowledge of quality control, calibration, and validation for instrument data and products.
