Senior Data Engineer - Sponsored Content & Products (all genders)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain high-throughput Reverse ETL replication pipelines connecting core platform systems with client-facing reporting tools.
• Evaluate data structures and choose appropriate storage and processing technologies, including MySQL, OpenSearch, BigQuery, and ClickHouse.
• Lead the migration of custom data processing pipelines to a modern, scalable data architecture.
• Partner with Backend and Analytics Engineers on performant physical and logical data models.
• Improve monitoring, reliability, alerting, and overall health across the data infrastructure.
• Set engineering standards and evaluate technical trade-offs between innovation, stability, and maintainability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in data platform engineering and 7+ years of total engineering experience.
• Strong Python skills for data loading logic, validation drivers, and cluster-executed synchronization utilities.
• Expertise in automated, event-driven batch workflow orchestration, state tracking, asset sensors, and task dependency graphs.
• Advanced knowledge of relational and analytical databases, including MySQL transaction isolation and query performance tuning.
• Experience with system resource monitoring, pipeline telemetry, centralized logging, and data alerts using tools such as Datadog.
• Strong communication, autonomy, ownership, and collaboration skills for working across infrastructure and product teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Dagster or similar modern data orchestrators.
• Working knowledge of dbt.
• Experience in e-commerce, retail technology, or ad-tech.
• Ability to read object-oriented PHP and work with Laravel-based legacy systems.
