Lead Business Systems Analyst - Actuarial IT (AI)

Location: Hybrid work in the United States, requiring three days in office per week at a hub location in Philadelphia, Cedar Rapids, or Denver.

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 annually, plus potential annual bonus.

What you will do

• Identify opportunities to improve actuarial systems and processes through AI, automation, and advanced analytics.
• Gather, analyze, and document actuarial requirements for predictive insights, automation, research, and decision support.
• Translate actuarial concepts into functional and technical specifications for IT, data, and AI engineering teams.
• Define requirements for actuarial data in AI/ML workflows, including data quality, lineage, and governance.
• Partner with QA and validation teams to test AI outputs and system results against actuarial expectations.
• Support AI adoption, data modernization, stakeholder communication, responsible AI, explainability, and transparency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, mathematics, actuarial science, computer science, or a related field.
• Proven business analysis experience in IT, actuarial, data, or analytics environments.
• Strong understanding of life, health, retirement, and annuity insurance products and actuarial processes.
• Ability to translate business and actuarial needs into AI-aware functional and technical requirements.
• Familiarity with data-driven systems, data integrations, analytics platforms, SQL, Excel, and BI tools.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience or conceptual knowledge of AI and machine learning, predictive modeling, NLP, or decision intelligence.
• Experience with AI-enabled initiatives in actuarial, finance, or insurance domains.
• Background in software development, data engineering, analytics, or large-scale financial data platforms.
• Experience with automation, data modernization, digital transformation, Agile, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
