Lead Business Analyst: Data Office - Actuarial Data & Tools

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey, United States; primarily in the office

Base salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year for positions based in New Jersey

What you will do

• Lead structured requirements sessions with senior actuaries and create detailed functional specifications.
• Align Actuarial and Data Office stakeholders on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
• Own roadmaps for actuarial data and tool development and partner with data engineers on delivery.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including story refinement, sprint planning, and daily scrums.
• Translate reserving, pricing, and modeling requirements into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain data governance documentation covering data lineage, testing, and production changes.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in business analysis and actuarial tool design within the insurance or financial industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, computer science, data analytics, mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Commercial Insurance actuarial concepts, including reserving methods and pricing tools.
• Experience with data environments, ETL, and visualization tools.
• Experience leading Agile teams and managing product backlogs.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

• Actuarial credentials or completed actuarial exams.
• Deep understanding of actuarial reserving and pricing concepts.
