Substation Engineer IV

Location: Augusta, Maine, United States

Salary: USD $117,998.40–$160,000 per year, plus potential participation in an annual discretionary bonus program.

What you will do

• Design complex electrical systems, including preliminary and detailed design, estimating, scheduling, equipment specifications, and engineering calculations.
• Evaluate engineering alternatives, prepare economic analyses, reports, and feasibility studies.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary design, equipment delivery, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
• Monitor electrical construction for compliance with plans, specifications, codes, schedules, safety, and quality standards.
• Serve as Project Engineer on moderate to large projects, including equipment inspections, testing, invoice review, and change direction.
• Lead the professional development, training, and evaluation of department personnel.

Requirements

• Minimum eight years of relevant experience in the designated engineering field.
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience.
• Experience applying national and local engineering standards, including ANSI/IEEE, the National Electric Safety Code, ASTM, and AIC.
• Professional Engineer license strongly preferred.
• Ability to travel when required to support projects.
