DB Administrator (SQL Server)

What you will do

• Maintain the integrity, availability, and performance of production database systems.
• Monitor databases and proactively resolve locking issues, failed queries, and other operational problems.
• Manage backup strategies, recovery procedures, security controls, patches, and product releases.
• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance across multiple global databases.
• Support application load testing, capacity planning, space management, data maintenance, and database deployments.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, change management, and Microsoft support teams on requirements, design reviews, and critical issue resolution.

Requirements

• Six or more years of hands-on database administration experience.
• At least five years of experience with SQL Server 2016 or 2019 and Windows Server administration, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• At least three years of experience with SQL Server high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions, including Always On, replication, clustering, or log shipping.
• Experience with SQL Server backup and restore, database object design, performance tuning, optimization, partitioning, compression, constraints, monitoring, and data encryption.
• Experience with Linux and scripting using SQL, PowerShell, or Python.
• Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, communication, presentation, and collaborative problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with MariaDB or MySQL and replication solutions.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Microsoft certification.
• Desire to learn new technologies and database platforms.
