Generator Tester - 2nd Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, USA; onsite, 2nd shift Monday–Thursday, 3:00 p.m.–1:30 a.m.

Pay: $24.50–$30.00 per hour, including shift premium, depending on tester level.

What you will do

• Perform generator system and subassembly tests according to production and quality standards.
• Analyze malfunctions and carry out repairs, adjustments, or alterations, referring complex issues for additional testing or repair.
• Maintain test equipment, buildings, and grounds, including preventive maintenance and equipment breakdown repairs.
• Suggest and implement improvements to equipment and designs to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
• Assist with designing, fabricating, welding, rigging, lifting, and relocating mechanical structures, guards, and heavy equipment.
• Work with engineering, project management, quality assurance, and other teams on test procedures, product issues, CI, and NPI initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Tester I: 0–2 years of experience; Tester II: associate degree or certification with 2–6 years of experience or equivalent; Tester III: associate degree or certification with 2–6 years of experience or equivalent.
• Basic PC knowledge, product testing and generator assembly knowledge, mechanical assembly skills, and the ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Ability to use test procedures, test programs, and written instructions; identify problems; implement countermeasures; and communicate effectively in a team environment.
• Tester III: experience with root-cause problem solving methods such as 5 Why, 8D, or PDCA, training employees to work instructions, and SAP or an equivalent ERP system.
