Salary: $150,000–$170,000 per year

What you will do

  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for the center-wide BMS architecture, DDC facility automation, fire alarm networks, and mass notification infrastructure.
  • Develop a 5-to-10-year modernization and control migration roadmap, including cost-benefit analyses.
  • Drive migration from proprietary controls to open-protocol frameworks and oversee fire alarm lifecycle management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal energy conservation goals, IT/OT cybersecurity requirements, NFPA 72, and NFPA 101.
  • Oversee testing, maintenance, certification, reliability, lifecycle planning, and quality assurance for control and life-safety systems.
  • Provide technical direction and coordinate reviews, reports, equipment replacements, root-cause analyses, and project impacts with government staff, contractors, IT security, and field crews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical field with 5–10 years of experience; alternatively, 10+ years of hands-on experience with large-scale BMS and fire alarm networks.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 101, and federal cybersecurity requirements.
  • Current Niagara 4 certification.
  • Demonstrated experience with integrated control networks and life-safety systems.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to deadlines, changing schedules, competing priorities, and unpredictable events.

Nice to have

  • Experience with modern open-protocol frameworks and IT/OT or IoT cybersecurity.
  • NASA or federal experience.
  • Experience with Federal and California facilities and infrastructure.
  • Customer relationship management experience.
