Senior Fire Protection & Life Safety Systems Engineer (Industrial)

What you will do

• Lead the design of fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm networks, VESDA smoke and leak detection, intrusion detection, and toxic gas monitoring systems.
• Act as Engineer of Record and deliver code-compliant designs for advanced industrial and hazardous-material facilities.
• Coordinate fire and life safety systems in 3D BIM environments with architectural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.
• Prepare hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, network diagrams, detailed specifications, and other construction deliverables.
• Interface with clients and local code officials regarding IFC, IBC, and NFPA compliance.
• Estimate and schedule mid-to-large-scale projects, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior engineering staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field, with the ability to attain PE licensure.
• At least 4 years of professional design experience using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience estimating and scheduling mid-to-large-scale industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 70, 72, 101, and 400, as well as International Building and Fire Codes.
• Hands-on experience designing fire alarm systems, VESDA, and leak detection hardware.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to represent the firm before regulatory agencies and senior client stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Active Professional Engineering license.
• Experience in semiconductor, data center, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
• Experience in design management and resource oversight.
