Lead Telecom Network Architect

What you will do

• Architect and support a scalable, highly available, and secure enterprise telecom network spanning more than 1,000 locations.
• Design IP/MPLS, DWDM, microwave, fiber, satellite, VPN, firewall, routing, switching, and optical network solutions for engineering and deployment teams.
• Develop migration strategies involving BGP, segment routing, SR-TE, EVPN, QoS, traffic engineering, and modern communication platforms.
• Lead network standards, procurement vehicles, and global RFP preparation and evaluation.
• Analyze traffic flows, system performance, capacity, security, disaster recovery, and network telemetry to plan upgrades.
• Coordinate with engineering, field teams, Network Operations Centers, security, data center teams, and external contractors while providing guidance, training, and mentorship.

Requirements

• Master’s degree plus 6 years, Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years, Associate’s degree plus 10 years, or 12 years of experience designing and managing telecommunications networks.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS TE, DWDM, IP/MPLS, microwave, SONET, DHCP, DNS, NTP, VPNs, ACLs, and policy-based routing.
• Experience with IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, JUNOS/JUNOSe, and TiMOS network operating systems.
• Knowledge of MPLS protocols including LDP, RSVP-TE, SR, SR-TE, VPRN, VPLS, VLL, VPWS, EVPN, and VXLAN.
• Experience with network automation and scripting using at least three of Perl, Python, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, or Bash/Korn shell.
• Experience creating network standards and documentation, planning and reporting work, analyzing packet captures and telemetry, and participating in RFP budgeting and evaluation.

Nice to have

• Experience with ROADM, FOADM, 400ZR/OpenZR+/400ZR+, CDC/CDC-F, DNS/DHCP/IPAM automation, ITIL, COBIT, or Lean Six Sigma.
• Infoblox Core DDI, Cisco CCIE, Juniper JNCIE, or Nokia SRA certification.
• Experience leading industry working groups and procurement processes.
