Network Strategy & Architecture Consultant (Telecoms)

Location: London head office and Cambridge Global Innovation & Technology Centre, United Kingdom; daily working locations vary according to client needs.

What you will do

• Advise telecoms and technology clients on network strategy, architecture, and transformation.
• Assure network designs and explain strategic design principles and business benefits rather than preparing low-level configurations.
• Develop recommendations and insights for complex enterprise and operational telecommunications challenges.
• Present to and engage with strategic client decision-makers.
• Contribute to internal consulting teams and multidisciplinary projects across strategy, design, operating models, and sourcing.
• Manage assigned deliverables and maintain relevant technical expertise while developing consulting skills.

Requirements

• Strong academic background and experience in telecoms, such as network design, management, or architecture.
• Knowledge of networking solutions including software-defined networking, zero trust network access, and public cloud networking.
• Strong analytical, creative, and abstract-thinking skills for developing solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client-facing work and presentations.
• Ability to discuss network design strategically, crystallize recommendations, adapt quickly, and work independently.
• Working presence at the London or Cambridge locations is expected according to client needs.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and BGP EVPN VXLAN.
• Experience with IPsec, MACsec, 802.1X/EAP, and WiFi 802.11.
• Firewall management and design with Palo Alto, Cisco, or Fortinet.
• Data centre network architectures, micro-segmentation, and fabric overlays.
