Distinguished Engineer – Data Center Network Architecture & Engineering

What you will do

• Define the long-term architecture and engineering strategy for data center networking across private cloud, hybrid cloud, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Design highly scalable Layer 3 Clos, leaf-spine, software-defined, and multi-site network architectures.
• Build automated network provisioning, lifecycle management, validation, compliance, and remediation platforms using APIs, Infrastructure-as-Code, and GitOps.
• Architect integrated networking for OpenStack, Kubernetes, IaaS, PaaS, AI/ML platforms, bare metal, and virtualized environments.
• Establish performance, observability, security, Zero Trust, segmentation, resilience, and disaster recovery standards.
• Serve as the highest-level technical authority, lead architecture reviews, influence cross-organization decisions, and mentor senior engineers.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in modern data center networking, large-scale network design, routing and switching, and leaf-spine or Clos fabrics.
• Advanced knowledge of BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, ECMP, MPLS, and OSPF.
• Experience with software-defined networking, network virtualization, private and hybrid cloud networking, Kubernetes networking, and OpenStack Neutron.
• Strong software engineering skills in one or more of Go, Python, C/C++, Rust, or Java, plus experience building APIs, automation platforms, and infrastructure services.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, distributed systems, observability, telemetry, monitoring, incident response, and complex network troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, cross-organization influence, communication, collaboration, and mentoring of senior technical talent.

Nice to have

• 15+ years of networking, infrastructure, or cloud engineering experience and 10+ years designing enterprise or hyperscale network architectures.
• Experience with open networking, disaggregated network operating systems, SmartNICs, DPUs, programmable switches, OCP, or SAI.
• Experience with cloud provider architectures, AI/ML or GPU networking, Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps, and Zero Trust networking.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field, advanced degree, or industry certifications.
