Safety Coordinator I (Construction)

Location: Santa Fe Springs, California, United States; onsite work at active construction sites

Salary: $38.00–$43.00 per hour, paid weekly

What you will do

• Conduct jobsite walkthroughs, identify hazards, document field conditions, and track corrective actions.
• Monitor fall protection, MEWP and forklift operations, LOTO, temporary power, electrical safety, confined spaces, trenching, shoring, and excavation controls.
• Verify PPE use and reinforce company, client, and site-specific safety requirements.
• Assist with incident reporting, fact gathering, safety observations, audits, and inspections.
• Support safety meetings, toolbox talks, pre-task planning, employee orientations, and field coaching.
• Collaborate with foremen, superintendents, project managers, electricians, and Safety Management to escalate unresolved concerns.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–3 years of construction or safety-related experience.
• Valid, insurable California driver’s license.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain it upon hire.
• Basic knowledge of construction hazards, safety procedures, documentation, and Cal/OSHA requirements.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Coursework or training in safety or construction.
• OSHA 30 – Construction certification or ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
• Experience in electrical or industrial construction environments.
• Familiarity with AHAs, permits, safety documentation, fall protection, MEWP, or LOTO programs.
