Occupational Safety Specialist

Location: Aberdeen, Maryland, United States; workplace: on-site at Aberdeen Proving Ground

What you will do

• Support managers, supervisors, and SOH specialists in implementing the safety and occupational health program.
• Conduct daily workplace walk-throughs to identify hazards, non-compliance, and required corrective actions.
• Assist with reporting and logging hazards, near misses, accidents, and trouble calls.
• Deliver safety communications and awareness messages to employees in assigned work areas.
• Participate in safety committee inspections, accident investigations, and corrective-action planning.
• Provide feedback on work center safety issues to supervisors and CECOM safety personnel.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant demonstrated experience.
• Experience working in a security capacity with Army, Joint Staff, and/or Department of Defense organizations.
• Military experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong oral and written communication, organizational skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
• Active Secret security clearance and TS/SCI eligibility required.
