Safety Support Specialist (Occupational Safety)

Location: Remote anywhere within the United States, excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories. Employees living within 50 miles of a FedEx campus must work onsite several times per week. Campus locations include Memphis, Tennessee, and Moon Township, Pennsylvania. Moderate travel is required.

Salary: $33.63–$67.25 per hour, with ranges varying by state.

What you will do

• Conduct prevention, compliance, and risk-reduction activities supporting workplace and highway safety strategies.
• Research safety technologies, industry trends, and OSHA, PHMSA, DOT, and company regulatory requirements.
• Lead cross-functional projects, quality action teams, and safety program implementation initiatives.
• Develop and update safety processes, procedures, facilities specifications, and employee and contractor guidance.
• Analyze safety metrics and evaluations, recommend corrective actions, and assess project outcomes.
• Facilitate presentations, support technology and program rollouts, and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, vendors, and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Logistics, Public Administration, Transportation, Engineering, or a related field; a high school diploma or GED plus four years of experience may substitute.
• At least five years of experience in safety, logistics, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience leading or facilitating successful safety program implementations.
• Knowledge of industrial and occupational safety concepts, practices, and industry trends.
• Presentation, communication, organization, time-management, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to build professional rapport and influence diverse groups.

Nice to have

• Associate Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional, or Certified Director of Safety designation.
• Experience researching regulations and recommending corrective actions.
