Mechanical Project Engineer - New Product Development (Power Generation)

Location: Hybrid, 3 days onsite at N7650 County Rd LS, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring new or transfer visa sponsorship now or in the future. Relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $83,300–$105,200 per year.

What you will do

• Establish product requirements and functional specifications with Product Marketing.
• Create project timelines, preliminary spending estimates, and business cases, while tracking project spending and product costs with Accounting and Procurement.
• Provide technical and design direction to Engineering Analysts and other Engineers.
• Design generator sets and approve major purchased components using engineering calculations to meet performance and cost criteria.
• Validate designs through testing against performance, reliability, and durability targets, and support existing product designs.
• Maintain project schedules, provide status reports, and lead continual improvement initiatives and system upgrades.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 2–5 years of mechanical engineering experience developing new consumer or industrial products.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects in a structured development environment.
• Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated project management and leadership skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with power generation, internal combustion engines, cooling systems, and alternators.
• Exposure to DFMEA, systems engineering practices, or model-based development.
