Mechanical Project Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Gladstone, Virginia, United States; onsite at the Riverville Mill

Salary: $86,400–$108,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide process optimization and engineering support for the mill.
• Coordinate compliance processes, lean projects, quality initiatives, and product safety activities.
• Develop and maintain methods for tracking and reducing operational costs.
• Coordinate external resources and apply relevant operational improvement information.
• Conduct data analysis projects and use findings to support business decisions.
• Support training and development assignments, including work at higher levels when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in process engineering or paper manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of pulp and paper making, wastewater treatment, and recovery operations.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure and ambiguity, communicate effectively, and make independent decisions.
• Ability to work onsite at the Gladstone, Virginia mill.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems.
• Project management experience.
• At least seven years of engineering experience with strong knowledge of engineering principles and procedures.
• Interest or aptitude in controls.
