Senior Equipment and Automation Engineer (PLC/Robotics)

What you will do

• Lead automation and equipment engineering activities at the Contract Manufacturer facility and represent hirify.global on equipment-related matters.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns, minimize production downtime, and train CM maintenance teams across shifts.
• Diagnose failures, perform root cause analysis, improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness, and lead equipment upgrades focused on reliability and serviceability.
• Program PLC ladder logic and structured text and program industrial six-axis robots for multi-station manufacturing applications.
• Develop equipment validation, calibration, qualification, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance procedures.
• Support spare-parts strategy, equipment installation, commissioning, FAT, SAT, safety compliance, and cross-functional manufacturing improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, equipment engineering, or maintenance engineering in manufacturing.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience with mechanical, electrical, controls, and automated production equipment.
• Experience programming, configuring, and troubleshooting industrial PLC systems and programming or integrating industrial robots.
• Experience commissioning automated equipment, improving OEE, and developing preventive or predictive maintenance programs.
• Willingness to work on-site in Dallas, USA, with occasional travel to other sites for FAT milestones or equipment launches.

Nice to have

• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell platforms, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, ControlLogix, or CompactLogix.
• Experience with FANUC robots, machine vision, sensors, end-of-arm tooling, HMIs, Ignition, or SCADA/MES platforms.
• Experience with 3D CAD, CMMS, ergonomics, change management, contract manufacturing, and industrial networking protocols.
