Field Testing Supervisor (Substation and Renewable Energy)

Location: Santa Fe Springs, California; onsite role with approximately 50% travel

Salary: $95,000–$135,000 per year, paid weekly and based on experience.

What you will do

• Supervise and support testing and commissioning activities for substations, PV arrays, BESS, and renewable energy SCADA systems.
• Lead onsite testing personnel and field crews, assign responsibilities, plan daily activities, and coordinate subcontractors.
• Create and review commissioning and testing procedures, site commissioning plans, and test results.
• Review engineering designs, vendor drawings, scopes, submittals, codes, standards, and QA/QC requirements.
• Resolve unanticipated site issues, support LOTO activities, and provide technical guidance to cross-functional project teams.
• Coordinate with project managers, construction leaders, engineers, clients, and stakeholders on schedules, progress, safety, and delivery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least 5 years of related experience as a testing technician, or an equivalent combination of trade and relevant experience.
• Relevant EHS, OSHA 10-hour, and LOTO training.
• Experience with electrical testing equipment from Solmetric, Omicron, Doble, Megger, or similar manufacturers.
• Experience troubleshooting PV, BESS, and substation events and reviewing test results for completeness and pass/fail status.
• Experience with relay software such as SEL AcSELerator QuickSet and GE, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
• Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Vocational degree in electronics, computer technology, or networking.
• Experience with utility-scale solar/PV or commercial renewable EPC projects.
• Knowledge of engineering design, operational project data analysis, and performance assessment.
