Team Leader (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Organize and lead production activities for assigned inventory control work centers, ensuring safe, defect-free, on-time manufacturing within cost constraints.
• Delegate work to technicians, monitor progress and attendance, and escalate schedule delays or operational constraints.
• Coach and train team members, support employee relations and performance appraisals, and mentor less experienced technicians.
• Lead Tier I GEMBA shift-start meetings and support Tier II and higher-level meetings, including root-cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.
• Coordinate standard work, SOPs, pace-board performance, 5S activities, and cross-functional process improvements.
• Apply A3, Kaizen, Lean, and other problem-solving methods while supporting safety, ISO compliance, and cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing activities.
• Proven leadership, training, communication, and organizational skills.
• Forklift, overhead crane, and jib hoist certifications are required.
• Basic knowledge of Syteline ERP, Microsoft Office, and Adobe.
• Ability to work productively in a diverse and multicultural environment.

Nice to have

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field.
• At least 5 years of experience working on multiple Oshkosh AeroTech products.
• Training in Syteline, Daily Operating Reports, GEMBA walks, problem-solving techniques, Lean leadership, or supervision.
