What you will do

• Prepare large quantities of DNA samples for qPCR, STR, and capillary electrophoresis workflows.
• Run and maintain qPCR and capillary electrophoresis instruments on a daily basis.
• Perform primary data analysis, troubleshoot data issues, and generate statistical summary tables and charts.
• Verify and validate new instruments in accordance with written SOPs.
• Present experimental results and issues to the project team.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or molecular biology.
• 3+ years of industrial experience.
• Thorough understanding and hands-on experience with PCR, qPCR, and capillary electrophoresis.
• Practical experience in DNA quantitation, Sanger sequencing, or fragment analysis.
• Strong molecular biology bench-work, record-keeping, time-management, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow testing documents and use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Thermo Fisher instruments and downstream analysis.
• Knowledge of statistics and software such as JMP or Minitab.
