What you will do

• Perform DNA workflows including gene library construction, molecular cloning, high-throughput DNA preparation, and sequencing.
• Support enzyme, therapeutic protein, and peptide engineering efforts for drug discovery and development.
• Independently plan and execute molecular cloning workflows with limited supervision.
• Maintain accurate experimental records, clear reports, and complete, traceable data.
• Manage multiple concurrent activities while coordinating with cross-functional project teams.
• Perform plasmid mini-preps, sequencing submissions and analysis, and limited laboratory stock and order management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree with 2+ years; or a PhD in a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with DNA cloning, DNA purification, PCR, primer design, mutagenesis, DNA sequencing and analysis, gel electrophoresis, bacterial transformation, and culture.
• Experience with Sanger sequencing and sequencing data analysis.
• Strong organization, prioritization, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage daily responsibilities independently without close supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience recognizing experimental issues, investigating root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
• Familiarity with Geneious, Benchling, or similar molecular biology software.
• Experience with high-throughput screening, automated liquid handling, and sample preparation platforms.
• Programming experience such as Python.
