Lead Biologist (Molecular Biology)

Location: Onsite in Manassas, Virginia, United States

Salary: $95,000–$110,000 annually, with potential incentive compensation, merit increases, and a corporate bonus program.

What you will do

• Design and conduct complex experiments on biological materials and processes, including viability and purity testing.
• Select, investigate, and develop biological techniques and methods supporting research and product development.
• Collect, analyze, interpret, and accurately document results in notebooks, batch records, databases, and reports.
• Lead laboratory operations, including supply monitoring, equipment oversight, cleanliness, and audit preparation.
• Coordinate laboratory staff activities, mentor team members, and support the supervisor in meetings and projects.
• Present research findings and communicate conclusions that support complex scientific and operational decisions.

Requirements

• Onsite work in Manassas, Virginia, United States.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, or an equivalent combination such as a master’s degree with 6 years, a PhD with 3 years, or a high school diploma with 12 years.
• Extensive experience with molecular biology QC testing and experience working with biological materials in a regulated environment.
• Ability to lead complex laboratory work, evaluate variable factors, coordinate projects with minimal supervision, and mentor others.
• Strong data analysis, documentation, laboratory operations, equipment oversight, and audit-readiness skills.
• Preferred technical knowledge includes PCR methods, sequence analysis, genotyping, LIMS, Good Documentation Practices, and GxP documentation.
