Research Associate Intern (Molecular Diagnostics)

Base pay: $25 per hour

What you will do

• Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments and molecular assays under the guidance of Senior Scientists.
• Learn analytical and computational methods for interpreting experimental results.
• Present scientific findings at group meetings and in internal written reports.
• Maintain rigorous documentation of experimental details and results.
• Contribute to moving research prototypes toward scalable molecular diagnostic products tested on patient samples.

Requirements

• Anticipated BS or MS in Bioengineering, Molecular and Cell Biology, Microbiology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Independent research experience.
• Strong mathematical, statistical, quantitative, analytical, and experimental aptitude.
• Ability to learn new mathematical, analytical, and experimental concepts quickly.
• Meticulous attention to experimental detail and accurate record-keeping.
• Ability to work on-site in the Menlo Park office.

Nice to have

• Experience with DNA-related molecular biology techniques such as PCR.
• Experience working with cell-free DNA.
• Experience preparing next-generation sequencing libraries.
• Computational analysis experience in R, Python, or another programming language.
