BU Safety Manager (Solid Waste)

Location: Auburn, Massachusetts, USA; full-time role supporting multiple business units and participating in operational safety inspections and audits.

Salary: $109,800–$151,050 annually, with a 15% annual incentive plan target.

What you will do

• Develop and implement loss prevention programs, safety objectives, policies, procedures, and training programs across multiple business units.
• Advise business unit leadership on safety training and promote proactive safety behaviors.
• Monitor safety and loss prevention programs, including Focus 6 initiatives, and redirect activities when performance falls below targets.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, Department of Transportation, and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Manage return-to-duty and modified-duty programs in partnership with HR and division management.
• Investigate serious accidents and injuries, oversee minor incident investigations, and participate in OSHA and DOT inspections and audits.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a safety professional.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and other applicable health and safety standards.
• Professional safety certification from a nationally recognized safety organization or a college degree in Safety Management.
• Successful completion of a 40-hour OSHA compliance course, along with strong communication, organizational, reporting, customer service, and Microsoft Office skills.
