Regional Safety Director

Location: Lanham, MD; Lathem, NY; Commerce City, CO; remote option available for well-qualified candidates. Extensive travel throughout the assigned region is required.

Salary: $150,000–$160,000 per year. Final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.

What you will do

• Lead the implementation of regional safety strategies, observation programs, corrective action processes, and safety initiatives.
• Supervise, coach, schedule, and develop regional safety representatives, including supporting hiring and onboarding.
• Conduct and oversee field safety observations, audits, coaching, stand-downs, customer audits, and project mobilizations.
• Lead significant incident management, including recordable injuries, outages, and near misses; identify and track corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, federal, state, and customer-specific safety requirements.
• Monitor TRIR, MVA rate, observation quality and volume, and corrective-action closure while representing safety performance to customers.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of electrical transmission, distribution, and substation construction experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a full-time safety leadership role at supervisor, manager, or director level.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with a represented workforce.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, utility safety practices, and human performance principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety documentation systems.
• Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned region.

Nice to have

• Safety certifications such as OSHA 500, CSP, CUSP, or CSHO.
• Strong communication, analytical, accountability, and high-pressure leadership skills.
