TL;DR
Health & Safety Manager (Oil & Gas): Leading regional HSE performance across oil and gas and environmental services projects with an accent on field safety, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and staff development. Focus on conducting audits and incident investigations, signing HASPs and risk assessments, and improving safety systems across complex field operations.

Location: Loveland, Colorado, USA; office and field work required. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate, with relocation costs negotiable.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do

  • Lead regional HSE performance across oil and gas, petrochemical, utility, federal, and environmental services projects.
  • Supervise 1–2 HSE staff and train, mentor, and coach field personnel on safety requirements.
  • Inspect field operations, conduct hazard assessments and audits, and verify compliance with OSHA and project-specific standards.
  • Act as the primary technical signatory for HASPs, risk assessments, SOPs, and site assessments.
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage HSE programs, report KPIs, improve HSE systems, and support client proposals and project reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience and education.
  • 8+ years of relevant HSE experience, including field experience.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification or ability to obtain it.
  • Knowledge of federal and state OSHA requirements.
  • Experience translating HSE strategy into practical action plans, managing multiple responsibilities, and communicating technical information.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, background and motor vehicle checks, drug test, and ability to perform outdoor field work and lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice to have

  • 4+ years leading, managing, or mentoring HSE staff or programs.
  • Familiarity with Colorado safety and environmental regulations, including ECMC requirements.
  • Oil and gas, oilfield services, environmental consulting, HAZWOPER, industrial hygiene, or safety auditing experience.
  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and familiarity with IOGP standards.
