Maintenance Tech II (Automation)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States; onsite role with occasional travel of up to 10% within and outside the state.

Salary: $30.00–$43.50 per hour

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair conveyors, automation, robotics, and ancillary equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document issues, repairs, operating logs, and corrective actions in CMMS and ticketing systems.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions, analyze production delays and spoilage causes, and verify that corrective actions resolve problems.
• Oversee maintenance projects, including space renovations, inventory management, contractor coordination, and building efficiency improvements.
• Mentor maintenance personnel and provide guidance and training to junior engineers and lower-level technicians.
• Assist with facility work such as electrical fixture, door, furniture, ceiling, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and equipment-related tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience repairing and maintaining conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems.
• Ability to certify on and operate industrial lift and material-handling equipment.
• Ability to work overtime and respond to on-call requests.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing for 8–12 hours, lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally, working at heights, and ascending ladders and stairs.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, HVAC, or an equivalent field.
• Apprenticeship completion or current trade certification.
• Basic proficiency with multiple software packages, including Microsoft Excel.
• Willingness to learn newly installed equipment.
