Maintenance Tech I-12 HR Shift (Automation & Robotics)

Location: Mundelein, Illinois, United States; onsite, rotating 12-hour night shift

Salary: $28.75–$41.75 hourly

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain conveyors, automation, robotics, and ancillary equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, record line maintenance issues, and document work in CMMS and ticketing systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC input/output and logic systems, act as an escalation point, and coordinate with senior technicians and maintenance mechanics.
• Perform root cause analysis of major downtime events and implement corrective actions for equipment malfunctions, defects, and spoilage.
• Maintain facility systems and operating logs, including fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other building systems.
• Complete facility and building projects such as lighting, doors, furniture, ceiling tiles, carpentry, plumbing, and equipment testing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment.
• Fundamental understanding of machinery and equipment, with basic proficiency in multiple software packages including Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC logic systems and work safely using Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash procedures, and PPE.
• Ability to work a rotating 2-2-3 schedule with 12-hour night shifts, overtime, and on-call requests as needed.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% within and outside the state for business purposes.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or an equivalent field.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program or current trade certification.
• At least 3 years of building maintenance experience in a facility larger than 75,000 square feet.
