Wind Turbine Repair Specialist (Wind Energy)

Location: Traveling position; live in or near Oregon, Washington, Iowa, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, Texas, or Minnesota. Approximately 70% travel within the United States is required.

Salary: $47.50–$52.75 per hour, depending on experience and location.

What you will do

• Inspect, repair, and perform corrective maintenance on wind turbine generator platforms, structural components, and major systems.
• Provide technical guidance to field technicians and support training on maintenance best practices and procedures.
• Conduct end-of-warranty and end-of-contract inspections, analyze findings, and prepare reports for stakeholders.
• Investigate component failures through field diagnostics, disassembly, inspection, and root cause analysis.
• Develop, review, approve, and publish service bulletins, work instructions, procedures, and reference materials.
• Analyze failure trends, assess supplier corrective actions, evaluate repair solutions and emerging technologies, and support turbine stop/run decisions.

Requirements

• At least five years of technical experience in the wind energy industry.
• Degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or another technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience inspecting and repairing wind turbine drivetrains, blades, gearboxes, generators, and related components.
• Working knowledge of Gamesa, GE, and Suzlon turbine platforms and safe use of electrical and mechanical tools.
• Ability to climb wind turbine towers up to 120 meters and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Verification of legal right to work in the United States is required; approximately 70% travel is required.
