Wind Turbine Technician (Wind Energy)

Location: Massena, Iowa, United States. Onsite work at a home wind farm site, with support for other sites across Iowa as needed. Travel may reach 25% during the first year for training and 10% in following years.

What you will do

• Service and maintain wind turbines at an operating wind farm.
• Diagnose turbine errors and resolve technical problems independently.
• Escalate complex technical issues to supporting engineering functions.
• Provide customer service and contribute to improved field procedures and best practices.
• Work inside turbine enclosures at heights of approximately 300 feet and in confined spaces.
• Take on additional technical and operational responsibilities at the wind farm.

Requirements

• Must work safely at elevated heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme weather conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of experience in a mechanical, electrical, or industrial field.
• Wind technician experience, renewable energy or wind technical certification, or relevant electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, maintenance, or troubleshooting experience.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
• Strong safety focus, teamwork, customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Must meet the 265-pound maximum body-weight requirement, pass a physical examination, and complete pre-hire background screening.
