Gas Turbine Test Technician

What you will do

• Install, connect, level, configure, and operate gas turbines, diesel engines, gas compressors, packaged systems, control consoles, components, and accessories in test cells and fixtures.
• Connect harnesses, simulators, filters, lines, dynamometers, generators, instrumentation, and other test equipment.
• Conduct test runs and final performance acceptance tests for gas turbines and gas compressors.
• Operate computerized data acquisition systems and review test data, including horsepower, pressure ratio, fuel flow, oil consumption, and electrical parameters.
• Perform vibration surveys, trim balancing, troubleshooting, operational adjustments, realignment, and rework to correct malfunctions.
• Remove tested units from the test facility after completing required work.

Requirements

• At least three years of mechanical- or electrical-related work experience.
• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing control circuits, including removing and replacing faulty components.
• Strong technical, electrical, and mechanical skills, with a good understanding of turbine theory.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical or electrical drawings and technical manuals.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring employer-sponsored work authorization are not eligible.

Nice to have

• Gas turbine package, operational, or testing experience.
• PLC controls experience.
• Airframes and Powerplants (A&P) license.
• Experience operating or testing Solar packages or engines.
• LOU #27 qualification as a QTT.
