Senior Counsel - First Party Practice Group

Location: West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, United States; travel and regular attendance at hearings, trials, depositions, and other court proceedings are required.

Annual base salary: $132,800–$219,100, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentives.

What you will do

• Independently manage higher-exposure cases and complex litigation matters from inception through trial and appeal.
• Try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions using advanced litigation skills.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive documents.
• Attend court events, depositions, and appointments while providing case analysis and handling recommendations to insured clients and Claims partners.
• Collaborate with expert witnesses and consultants to develop case strategies and prepare testimony.
• Build client relationships, deliver legal training, support special projects, use case-management technology, and mentor attorneys and legal staff.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney, including insurance defense litigation.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the state or states where representation is required.
• Proven jury-trial experience, strong courtroom outcomes, and advanced oral and written advocacy skills.
• Experience with hearings, trials, dispositive motions, depositions, or other court proceedings, with the ability to travel to them.
• No-fault experience and experience handling Examinations Under Oath are expected; a valid driver's license may be required depending on location.
