Location: Sacramento, California, United States; hybrid schedule

Salary: $173,390–$211,620 per year

What you will do

• Defend workers' compensation cases within the in-house legal department.
• Apply California workers' compensation law to case strategy and litigation.
• Conduct depositions, negotiations, and trial work.
• Collaborate onsite with adjusting staff.
• Provide training and one-on-one legal consultations.
• Manage a caseload without a billable-hours requirement.

Requirements

• JD or LLM from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California State Bar is required.
• At least 15 years of experience defending workers' compensation cases.
• Solid understanding of California workers' compensation law.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, deposition, and litigation skills.
• Recent trial experience.
