Senior Claims Counsel – Title Insurance (Remote)

Location: Remote, associated with Berwyn, Pennsylvania, United States

Salary: $129,300–$172,300 annually

What you will do

• Investigate title insurance, escrow, and company claims and determine coverage, loss, defenses, reserves, and resolution strategies.
• Develop and execute plans for managing claims and related litigation through final resolution.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants, opposing counsel, and third parties.
• Represent the company in court proceedings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.
• Direct outside counsel on litigation strategy and review counsel invoices and claim expenses.
• Identify and pursue recovery sources.

Requirements

• 12+ years of legal experience, with emphasis on real estate matters, insurance coverage, and some litigation, mediation, and arbitration.
• Law degree required.
• Admission and good standing to practice law in any United States state required.
• Experience handling claims and insurance coverage.
• Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, organizational, analytical, and legal skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and develop original resolution strategies.
