Electro-Mechanical Automation Technician (PLC)

Location: Onsite at 2525 Midpoint Dr, Edwardsville, Kansas 66111, United States. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.; shift work may be required during the February–June peak season. The position does not offer relocation assistance, and candidates must be able to work from the designated location without company-sponsored relocation.

What you will do

• Diagnose, fault-find, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC logic and plant automation systems.
• Install, test, and maintain electrical conduit, wiring, controls, motors, switching devices, outlets, and fixtures.
• Troubleshoot and replace AC/DC drives, servo motors, relays, proximity sensors, and related components using electrical testing equipment.
• Lead complex automation and equipment troubleshooting, root cause analysis, system upgrades, and reliability improvements.
• Maintain printing presses, folders, cutters, stitchers, binders, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, vacuum pumps, HVAC controls, plumbing, and facility equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, fabrication, welding, brazing, soldering, and safe shop and plant-floor housekeeping.

Requirements

• One-year certificate in Mechatronics or Industrial Electronics, 5+ years of related industrial maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Advanced ability to troubleshoot PLCs, electrical controls, drives, motors, and industrial automation equipment.
• Ability to read complex electrical schematics, safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals, and governmental regulations.
• Strong practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to work safely around moving machinery, electrical hazards, vibration, fumes, paper particles, and moderate-to-loud industrial noise.
