Account Manager - Bond & Specialty Insurance - Construction Services

Location: Downers Grove, Illinois, United States

Salary: $52,600–$86,800 annual base salary, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentives.

What you will do

• Perform pre-quote and post-bind underwriting activities for management liability, operations, and surety accounts.
• Process, issue, assemble, and distribute bond products, including new business, renewals, cancellations, mid-term changes, riders, joint ventures, and co-sureties.
• Prepare workbooks and retrieve credit, GuideStar, Westlaw, ERISA, prospect, and business reports for underwriting teams.
• Manage final contract price reporting, agent communications, closeout activities, and over- or under-run premium processing.
• Monitor non-payments and past-due obligations, follow up with agencies, and support audits, QAP forms, and underwriting training.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred; an associate's degree or at least one year of work experience is required.
• At least two years of experience in the insurance industry is typically expected.
• Intermediate understanding of insurance terminology and underwriting instructions.
• Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills, with an intermediate customer focus.
• Basic Windows and Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, plus the ability to learn computer systems.
