Senior Research Specialist – Biological Sciences

Location: Full-time, on-site position at hirify.global's main campus in Stephenville, Texas. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, or as required by the work.

Salary: Target base annual salary of $72,870, negotiable based on funding availability and qualifications.

What you will do

• Provide senior scientific leadership for a newly established cancer research laboratory and shared-instrument core.
• Plan, conduct, troubleshoot, analyze, and interpret experiments in molecular and cell biology, patient-derived organoid models, immune phenotyping, and single-cell/spatial omics.
• Contribute to manuscripts and grant applications.
• Manage procurement, inventory, vendors, service contracts, budgets, and expenditure records across multiple funding accounts.
• Lead laboratory safety and maintain BSL-2, IBC, standard operating procedure, training, and compliance documentation.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, schedule, and oversee shared laboratory instruments while mentoring and supervising graduate and undergraduate researchers.

Requirements

• Master's degree in biomedical science, cell biology, molecular biology, cancer biology, or a related field with substantial relevant research experience, or a Ph.D. in a related field.
• Ten years of related experience.
• Hands-on expertise in mammalian cell culture, patient-derived organoid models, flow cytometry, qPCR, nucleic-acid and protein quantification, gel workflows, and blot workflows.
• Experience managing laboratory operations, including procurement, inventory, and instrument maintenance.
• Working knowledge of BSL-2 biosafety practices and regulatory compliance.
• Strong organizational, record-keeping, communication, and independent-working skills; employment includes Campus Security Authority responsibilities and a criminal history investigation.
