Texas A&M University is a major public university whose Biology Department conducts teaching and research across the biological sciences.

What you will do

  • Oversee daily laboratory operations, course preparation, protocol troubleshooting, facility maintenance, and instructional support for anatomy and physiology courses.
  • Lead and train laboratory technicians, teaching assistants, student workers, and staff while managing schedules and assignments.
  • Coordinate student and instructional activities, including teaching assistant support, examination materials, absences, and makeup laboratory sessions.
  • Manage laboratory purchasing, requisitions, purchase orders, equipment inventories, budgets, and course order records.
  • Maintain laboratory safety and regulatory compliance, including chemical inventories, compliance records, and required reporting.
  • Maintain online laboratory course components and teaching collections, including specimens, microslides, study skins, charts, and anatomical models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Five years of experience in medical or teaching laboratory settings.
  • Ability to frequently stand and walk in instructional laboratories and occasionally lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong organizational, communication, multitasking, supervisory, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, five years of biology, chemistry, or related laboratory teaching experience, and two years of supervisory experience.
  • Professional experience in human anatomy and physiology, animal physiology, embryology, or a related science field is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.
  • CPR/First Aid, hazardous chemical, and FAMIS training.
