Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Welding)

Salary: $82,900–$134,300 per year across U.S. locations

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing engineering projects of moderate to high complexity.
• Improve welding and fabrication processes using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methods.
• Review product releases and engineering changes for manufacturability and production efficiency.
• Design and implement assembly and welding fixturing, specialized tooling, equipment, and automation.
• Perform engineering analyses and resolve manufacturing challenges with Production, Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams.
• Develop capital investment cases and provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in fabrication, welding, or heavy manufacturing.
• Experience supporting manufacturing processes, quality objectives, and production operations.
• The role may involve loud noise, dust, moving machinery, temperature fluctuations, extended standing, repetitive motion, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Personal protective equipment must be worn when required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification.
• Experience with welding automation, robotic welding systems, and automated manufacturing technologies.
• Experience developing weld procedures, work instructions, and welding training programs.
• Knowledge of destructive and nondestructive testing, weld quality standards, capital equipment projects, and tooling design.
