Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Weld (Aluminum)

Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States; onsite. Relocation is available. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Salary: $84,500–$123,900 annually.

What you will do

• Provide production support and resolve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity issues.
• Support manual and robotic welders, sheet rollers, and custom fabrication equipment.
• Design and implement fixtures and tools to improve quality, reduce scrap, and increase throughput.
• Analyze production lines using time studies, line balancing, and lean manufacturing methods.
• Create process documentation, work instructions, and labor standards.
• Support new product development, manufacturing readiness, capital projects, and cross-functional training.

Requirements

• 7+ years of technical experience in a fabrication engineering department.
• Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Strong expertise in welding processes, welding equipment, recipe development, and metallurgy, preferably aluminum.
• Programming experience with weld robots and other automation, plus strong Excel and MS Office skills.
• 3D CAD experience; SolidWorks is preferred for equipment programming and fixture development.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, innovation, teamwork, and self-motivation skills.

Nice to have

• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, 5-Why, 8-D, 5S, PFMEA, and Kaizen events.
