Senior Manufacturing Technician

Location: Dodge Center, Minnesota, United States; onsite manufacturing or production/field environment

Salary: $57,600–$90,400 per year

McNeilus, an Oshkosh company, designs and manufactures refuse truck bodies and related equipment for waste collection fleets.

What you will do

• Lead testing, fabrication, assembly, instrumentation, configuration changes, and repairs for vehicles, subsystems, components, and test stands.
• Test prototypes and current products for performance, specifications, and regulatory conformance.
• Record test data, troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and perform basic failure analysis.
• Assemble and disassemble complex mechanical structures and fabricate customized parts and test fixtures using drawings and work instructions.
• Select appropriate test instruments, plan daily activities, and coordinate work across functions to resolve technical issues.
• Mentor technicians, promote best practices, and implement continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree and five years of experience in engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License, Telehandler license, or AWP operator license.
• Ability to travel 10%.
• Ability to pass the McNeilus weld certification.
• Ability to work safely around loud noise, dust, moving machinery, temperature fluctuations, and physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Some positions may require U.S. Person status for access to controlled goods and technologies under ITAR or EAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Certified Welder qualification.
• Experience coaching and mentoring technicians.
• Knowledge of automotive and mechanical terminology.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use product lifecycle management tools such as JDE and Smart Team.
