Lead Engineer - Electric System

Location: Brewster, New York, United States; on-site office schedule

Salary: $106,000–$132,500 per year

What you will do

• Oversee portfolios of electric distribution, substation, and transmission engineering projects.
• Develop conceptual and detailed designs, drawings, specifications, construction work orders, bid forms, and procurement documentation.
• Perform engineering analyses, calculations, reliability studies, outage contingency planning, and assessments across multiple voltage levels.
• Support construction, testing, commissioning, site inspections, storm restoration, and field engineering activities.
• Lead engineering reviews, quality assurance, documentation, risk management, and compliance with company standards, industry codes, and regulations.
• Coordinate engineering contractors, consultants, construction and design teams, project managers, and client teams; provide SAP work-order support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; electrical, civil, or mechanical engineering preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant electrical engineering and utility design experience.
• Experience with CAD drafting, PLS-CADD modeling, construction and outage sequencing, industry codes, standards, and regulations.
• Knowledge of electric distribution, substation, and transmission planning, operations, or protection.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite and SAP; Primavera is a plus.
• Ability to work on site in Brewster, New York, United States.

Nice to have

• New York State PE license.
• Experience with electric power load-flow analysis, FERC and state regulations, AutoCAD, contractors, and constructability assessments.
• Strong technical communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and change-adoption skills.
