Lead Engineer, Technical Field Engineering (Electrical Engineering)

Location: Westwood, Massachusetts, with travel throughout Eastern Massachusetts and between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire as necessary. The role requires emergency restoration assignments, on-call availability, and responding outside normal work hours when needed.

Salary: $145,670–$161,860 annually, with potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead planning, maintenance, repair, testing, commissioning, and technical support for substation and electric field systems.
• Review test and commissioning plans, test results, maintenance reports, apparatus analyses, and in-service equipment data.
• Coordinate technical work, schedules, field staff, union field engineers, power system technicians, and related engineering departments.
• Lead technical process reviews, compliance initiatives, operational investigations, and closure of outstanding field events.
• Develop training curricula and outage restoration exercises for Field Engineering and Field Communications.
• Manage test equipment repairs, calibrations, tracking, corrective actions, and deployment documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required; Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or Electrical and Computer Engineering is strongly preferred.
• Eight or more years of related experience are required.
• Knowledge of electrical power engineering, preferably protection and controls, substation systems, and electric field systems.
• Ability to investigate system events and grid misoperations, analyze information, make decisions, and resolve technical problems.
• Strong computer skills and experience with software for databases, test equipment, and hardware configuration.
• Valid motor vehicle operator license is required. PE license and a master’s degree are preferred.
