Forward Deployed Engineer (Fintech)

Location: New York City, United States; hybrid work with travel to client sites for up to 25% of the time

Salary: $140,000–$220,000 base salary annually

What you will do

• Embed with client engineering teams to design, build, test, and deliver production-ready implementations of Vault products.
• Own the technical success of client engagements from initial design through production readiness.
• Translate business requirements into technical delivery plans with client architects, engineers, and programme leads.
• Write production-quality Python or Go code for integrations, tooling, data pipelines, and product extensions.
• Debug distributed systems involving databases, messaging, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
• Support presales, advise clients on Vault implementation best practices, and communicate client feedback to product and engineering teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on engineering experience with strong proficiency in Python or Go.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL or equivalent databases, and Kafka or equivalent messaging systems.
• Production experience deploying and operating workloads on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience delivering technical projects directly with external clients or partners.
• Ability to move solutions from design to production, including edge cases, rollback plans, and operability.
• Familiarity with retail banking, payments, ledgers, or regulated financial services environments.

Nice to have

• AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with additional programming languages.
