Forward Deployed Engineer (Fintech)

Location: New York, NY, United States. Hybrid schedule with a mandatory minimum of two days in the office.

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus and eligible benefits.

What you will do

• Embed with portfolio management and business-unit teams to understand workflows, pain points, data needs, and strategic goals.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, production-ready technical solutions.
• Build APIs, data pipelines, integrations, internal tooling, automation scripts, and reusable engineering components.
• Lead technical demos, proof-of-concept builds, pilot deployments, and end-to-end implementations through go-live.
• Configure and deploy solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments while meeting performance, security, and compliance requirements.
• Represent client needs in product and engineering roadmaps and collaborate with Product Management, Sales, Pre-Sales, and Support.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, or a client-facing technical role.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in at least two programming languages, such as Python, Java, TypeScript, or Go.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, REST or GraphQL APIs, and integration patterns.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerization tools including Docker or Kubernetes.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship and must work from the New York office at least two days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, asset management, or fintech.
• Experience with Snowflake or Databricks.
• Exposure to LLM/AI tooling and prompt engineering.
• Consulting, pre-sales engineering, or solutions architecture experience.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks.
