Backend Engineer (Python/AWS)

What you will do

• Develop backend software and APIs for ground-based satellite operations.
• Integrate and optimize AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Fargate, EKS, Lambda, ECS, CloudWatch, and EFS/EBS.
• Build scalable, secure, cost-efficient, and high-performance cloud-native systems.
• Implement features, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to generative AI integrations, DevSecOps, CI/CD tooling, and software architecture.
• Participate in backend and frontend engineering work within an Agile Scrum environment.

Requirements

• Professional experience with backend development, full-stack development, or a related role; typically 3+ years.
• Proficiency in Python, GraphQL, Docker, and Terraform or another infrastructure-as-code tool.
• Strong knowledge of containerized applications and familiarity with Kubernetes cluster deployments.
• Experience with AWS services and collaborative Git-based development using GitHub or GitLab.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated technical ability.
• U.S. Person status is required, and the role requires the ability to obtain U.S. security clearance. Visa sponsorship is not available.
