Backend Software Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid in Denver, San Francisco, Seattle, or Washington, DC; U.S. Person status required

Salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Develop backend software and APIs for satellite mission operations using Python and AWS.
• Integrate AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Fargate, EKS, Lambda, ECS, CloudWatch, and EFS/EBS.
• Design for scalability, security, cost efficiency, performance, and operational reliability.
• Analyze and troubleshoot APIs for generative AI platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and AskSage.
• Contribute to DevSecOps, CI/CD tooling, infrastructure automation, and software architecture.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers and product managers in an Agile Scrum environment.

Requirements

• Professional experience in backend, full-stack, or related software development; typically 3+ years, with equivalent self-directed experience considered.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python, GraphQL, Docker, and Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience with containerized applications, Kubernetes deployments, AWS services, Git, and GitHub or GitLab.
• U.S. Person status is required, and the role requires eligibility to obtain U.S. security clearance.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; ITAR eligibility is required or must be obtainable.
