Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, with hiring locations in Miami, FL; Austin, TX; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; and San Antonio, TX

Salary: $180,000–$320,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Work directly with customer engineering teams to design and implement real-time applications on the hirify.global platform.
• Design scalable architectures for voice AI, real-time media, and developer platform use cases.
• Build prototype integrations, reference implementations, and sample applications.
• Help customers use SDKs, APIs, infrastructure, and deployment strategies for production systems.
• Debug production issues, lead technical workshops, and conduct architecture sessions.
• Translate customer needs into product insights and contribute code, examples, documentation, tooling, and open-source improvements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering.
• Proficiency in one or more of Go, Python, Node, Rust, or C++.
• Experience with APIs, SDKs, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, or real-time systems.
• Ability to understand complex systems, troubleshoot real-world issues, and work hands-on with customers.
• Strong written and spoken English communication.
• Fluent written and spoken Spanish and English required for work with Spanish-speaking customer engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with WebRTC, real-time media systems, or telephony and SIP infrastructure.
• Familiarity with voice AI, conversational agents, or AI infrastructure.
• Customer-facing engineering experience as a Solutions Engineer, Field Engineer, or Forward Deployed Engineer.
• Open-source or developer ecosystem contributions.
• Experience building with or integrating hirify.global.
