Packaging Engineer

Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA; onsite position

What you will do

• Develop packaging models for raw materials in collaboration with inventory analysis, PFEP, and total cost of ownership planning.
• Travel to suppliers to assess inbound materials and packaging requirements; travel is approximately 10%.
• Monitor and communicate supplier adherence to packaging policies.
• Develop and execute packaging test methods, capability studies, and improvement protocols.
• Create or validate packaging SOPs and work instructions, and train personnel on packaging activities.
• Define material preservation policies and coordinate packaging specifications for newly sourced products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in a packaging design role.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, including SAP Business Objects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate with leadership, suppliers, and other external providers.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a problem-solving environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and statistical analysis software.
• Previous experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP.
• Teaching, training, coaching, or mentoring experience.
• Experience working with international companies and matrix organizations.
