Manager, Custom Packaging Design Engineering (Packaging)

Location: Piedmont, South Carolina, United States; minimal travel, less than 10%.

What you will do

• Review and develop procedures supporting ORBIShield custom products and repeatable design development.
• Maintain and analyze KPIs and distribute performance information to upper management.
• Mentor the Custom Product Designs group on procedural standards and manufacturable design attributes.
• Analyze, design, test, and implement new products and materials with the technical team.
• Collaborate with custom plants and design teams on safe work environments and technical documentation.
• Represent the Custom Design function in Kaizen events and support innovation initiatives.

Requirements

• Technical degree or certifications; relevant work experience may substitute for education.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience required; 7–10 years desired.
• Knowledge of returnable packaging concepts, material handling methods, and packaging materials preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data management, and design software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, or Pro-E.
• Experience developing ISO 9000 work instructions and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to coach and develop employees, manage multiple responsibilities, work under pressure, and support occasional work outside normal business hours.
